Text to Speech

By default only voices installed on this device are used. Your text is not sent to a server — it is turned into sound inside this browser.
This browser does not support speech synthesis (speechSynthesis). Try a recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.
⚠ The selected voice sends your text over the internet to get the audio back. Do not use it for sensitive content.
No on-device voice is available. Install a voice for this language in your operating system’s text-to-speech settings, or tick the box above to include remote voices.

FAQ
There is no sound.
Check the device and browser volume and silent mode. Mobile browsers only play sound after you tap a button. If no voice for the language is listed, install one in your operating system’s settings.
Why are remote voices off by default?
Some voices (for example Chrome’s “Google” voices) send your text over the internet and play back the audio. These tools promise not to send your input anywhere, so remote voices are excluded unless you switch them on yourself.
Can I save the audio as a file?
Browser speech synthesis can only play sound; it has no way to save it, so saving is not offered.
How to use this tool
