Whack-a-Mole

Controls Goal: press Start and moles pop out of the 3×3 holes one at a time for 30 seconds — whack as many as you can. Your score is moles whacked minus taps on empty holes (never below 0) — higher is better. Controls: with a mouse or touch, press a hole with a mole and the hammer swings for +1; pressing an empty hole is −1 (it reacts the instant you press). On a keyboard use the numpad layout (7 8 9 / 4 5 6 / 1 2 3). As time passes moles appear faster and hide faster (spawn gap 0.9→0.45 s, stay time 1.1→0.6 s), and a missed mole ducks back down. Tips: mashing is penalized, so look at the whole board and tap only what has popped up. Chaining hits raises a streak counter and the sound (it doesn't affect your score), and the time bar turns red in the last 10 seconds. The clock starts when you press Start and there is no pause.
