Yut Nori
Controls Goal: bring all 3 of your pieces home before the computer (a piece travels once around the board and out at the start). Throw four sticks: one flat side up is Do (1 step), two Gae (2), three Geol (3), four Yut (4), none Mo (5). Yut, Mo or capturing an enemy piece lets you throw again. Controls: press Throw (or focus the board and press Space/Enter); the pieces you can move glow and dotted markers show where they would land. Click a glowing piece or a marker to move (mouse and touch alike; on the keyboard, number keys 1–3 pick the piece). Rules: landing on an enemy piece captures it and sends it back to the start. Landing on your own piece stacks them — they move together and go home in one move (pieces still at the start do not stack). Landing exactly on a corner (the 5th or 10th step) lets your next move take an inner shortcut, 16 steps in all; just passing the corner does not. Reaching or passing the end brings a piece home. Scoring: the number of throws you made in a won game (fewer ranks higher, 6 at the very least); a loss is not recorded. There is no pause or undo. Yut is a game of luck, so fewer throws does not necessarily mean better play. Tips: aim for the corners to take the shortcut. A lone piece 1–5 steps in front of an enemy piece is easy to capture. Stacking is sturdy, but if the stack is captured they all go back.
