Reaction Test

Controls Goal: wait on the red screen and press as fast as you can the moment it turns green. Your record is the average reaction time (ms) over 5 rounds — shorter is higher. Controls: press the screen (with a mouse or touch it is measured the instant you touch) or press Space or Enter. After you press to start, the screen turns green at a random moment 1–4 seconds later. Pressing before it turns green is a false start: that round is thrown out with no record and you start it again. Each round's reaction time and rating (lightning <200 ms · fast <250 ms · average <300 ms · slow) is stacked as a bar chart, and after 5 rounds you see the average, best and worst. Tips: rest your finger on the screen and watch one spot where the color changes; guessing in advance causes a false start. With sound on a short beep plays when it turns green, but the color is the reference. Records faster than the human limit (about 100 ms) are not accepted. There is no pause.
