Beat Tap

Tap along with the metronome eight times. The smaller your average error, the higher you rank.

Controls Goal: after the metronome counts in 4 beats, tap the big button on the next 8 beats at the same tempo (100 BPM). The average error in milliseconds over those 8 beats is your record — lower is higher. A beat you don't tap counts as the maximum error (300 ms), and a run with no taps at all is not recorded. Controls: press the big button (with a mouse or touch it reacts the instant you touch) or press Space or Enter. The first count-in beat comes 0.6 seconds after you press Start. The result stacks as a bar per beat stretching left when early and right when late, the most accurate beat gets a ★, and you also see whether you were early or late on average — if it leans one way it may be your device's audio delay rather than skill (Bluetooth earphones lag 100 ms or more). Tips: feel the tempo during the 4 count-in beats and trust either the flashing circle or the sound, not both. You can turn the metronome sound off and play by the circle alone; the tap sound is off by default. If the tab is hidden mid-run that run is cancelled, and there is no pause.
