Lemonade Stand
Controls Goal: run a lemonade stand for 30 days and finish with as much cash (your score) as possible on the last day. Controls: each morning, look at the weather, temperature, event and ingredient cost, set the price per cup (300 to 3000 won in steps of 100), the number of cups to make and an ad level, then press Start the day. Use the ± buttons beside each field; as you type, today's expected demand is shown (based on the number of customers and the highest price anyone will pay) and the Match demand button fills the cup count with that demand (within the cash you have). Scoring: the higher the price the smaller the share of customers who buy (share = 1 − price / top price), and the number of customers depends on temperature, weather (sunny > cloudy > rain), events (festival up, roadwork down), reputation and ads. If you run out of cups and turn customers away, reputation drops 5 points (down to 80%), otherwise it rises 3 points (up to 100%), and it multiplies tomorrow's customers. Unsold cups are thrown away that day, and ingredient and ad costs are paid before selling. Weather and demand are fixed so everyone lives the same 30 days; the score is your cash on day 30, higher is better. Time does not matter so there is no pause. Tips: make about the expected demand (too few hurts reputation, too many wastes ingredients), and try different prices to find where price × sales − ingredients is biggest. Ads pay off on busy days (sunny days, festivals). The tests calculated this market's theoretical maximum: 784,550 won.
